This was just the break he needed. Sure, chaos and mischief was great. Seeing shocked faces, doing foolish stunts, and sweet talking those into making fools out of themselves, all grand but Evan needed some time. A little peace and relaxation. So, the young man sat lakeside tossing and skipping rocks into the water.
There were no fancy tricks involved, just skipping rocks. Auburn colored eyes stared aimlessly at the rings that were emitting from the contact and sinking of the rocks. Ok, so this was boring. Just a bit. A delicate hand filtered through his chocolate as he sighed. Maybe he should find something entertaining? Or let it come to him? As most knew Evan was a lazy 17 yr old boy. He wouldn't be bothered looking if he thought it could find him.
So there he sat, dressed in a white t-shirt and baggy blue jeans. One of his legs was bent, knee to the sky while the other rested bent underneath it. His arm rested on the vertical leg and he yawned lazily. No one was really at the lake today. Normally there were couples, kids, and old people scattered about. But not today. Just his luck huh?

Darkness enclosed her. Keep running, gotta keep running. Shadows reached out, clawing at her trying to bring her down. Tree roots reached out and tried to trip her. She incresed her pace as her heart pounded endlessly. Her breath came in gasps. Suddenly, she stopped. She looked around, spinning in circles. She stopped as a darkened figure approached her. She tried to run away but she was frozen in fear. The figure stopped and a cold, deep voice spoke, "Athena. We meet at last. But only for a short time. I will be leaving here. You will not. Despite your knowledge in fighting and your wisdom, I know how to beat you. So goodbye my lady."
She screamed and sat straight up in bed. She was shaking and was dampened by sweat. Her chest rose rapidly, trying to catch her breath. Alana looked around. It had been a mere nightmare. Or had it? Who was that? She didn't recognize the voice at all and she couldn't think of anyone that it could possibly be. Maybe it was just some unknown person. Wait, of course it was! It was just a dream after all. She closed her eyes and put her head in her hands. She tried to shake off the feeling off someone watching her. She sighed softly.
Alana pulled off the covers and felt her feet hit the cold surface off the floor. She got up and looked outside. It was early, the sun had only just risen. She shivered and went to go take a hot shower. Maybe that would help to get rid of these creepy feelings. She got out about thirty minutes later and dressed. She pulled on some jean shorts and an olive green tank top. She sighed again and brushed her hair and teeth. She put on some flip-flops and headed downstairs. She didn't see anyone so she continued on her way.
She decided a trip to the Lake might be what she needed. She sighed softly and walked towards it. She lived quite a ways away from the lake so she would be walking for a while. She looked at her watch. She had spent longer at her house than she had thought. It was nine in the morning. She bit her lower lip softly as she calculated in her head. She'd get to the lake at around ten, an hour's time. She needed the thinking time. It was also good exercise, not that she needed it. She was fit already from her fighting practice. She smiled softly as she thought of her schedule for the day. She would need to do some fighting of course but that was the fun part. She also didn't usually do that until late afternoon or early evening. She looked up after some time had passed and could see the Lake in the distance. It hadn't seemed like an hour but it had been. She walked down to it and saw someone there already. She smiled.
"Hey Evan!"

As he sat the events of days before replayed in his mind. There was the day he nearly killed himself playing on the roof. Damn those hot girls. He nearly broke his neck as they made their way down the street. Yea, he was definitely a lady's man and didn't mind one bit. Sure it was of his biggest weakness, the ladies, but he learned to deal and to control himself well.
But just cause he could control himself...didn't mean the girls could! Oh yes...he attracted them by the droves, but today he had no problems. Was this disppointing? Slightly. Sighing once more another rock was skipped across the water's surface, sinking after about 3 skips. It was a heavy one and rings formed on the surface, small growing larger.
Exactly how long had he been here? Evan hadn't a clue when he got there but looking at his watch it was around ten. Just then a voice was heard...a female's and his auburn eyes landed on an approaching girl. Alana. A smile played on his lips and he waved slightly. "Hey, Alana." he replied patting the spot next to him.
"Have a seat, Babe."

She smiled in return and heard as he had called her babe. Then again, he usually called all the hot girls babe. Not that she thought she was hot or anything. Oh, she knew she wasn't ugly but she didn't really consider herself beautiful. She just concentrated on her fighting skills and her smarts. That made her perfectly content. Most of the time. She was a teenager after all, she did worry about her appearence. She went down next to him and sat down. It was promising to be a beautiful day, and she hoped it would be. Maybe she could practice outside. That would be nice. She looked over at him and smiled.
He was cute, she admitted it. She didn't really date much though. She wasn't sure why, she just didn't. It wasn't something she really had an interest in. She would be however, if she found love. True, everlasting, real love. That was what she wanted. She would go for it if it was presented to her but until then, she was content with being single. She smiled.
"So how've you been?"
She asked, tucking some of her long hair behind her ear.

He caught her smile and watched as she took a seat beside him. In his opinion Alana was a very beautiful girl. Athletic, smart, and hot. What more could you want? But alas, even he knew she was out of his league. For one she didn't date often or so it appeared and two he was capable of dating very long. 3 days at the most. Whether it be boredom or the total lack in chemistry, he'd break it off.
Love was out there. He knew it, but none seemed to be coming in his direction. Till then he found flirting with every girl he could just fine. The boy leaned back onto his elbows as he repositioned himself. It was unusual to see Evan just sitting in one spot without moving every 5 seconds. It was only natural for him to do so.
"Hmm....bored...bored....oh! Did I mention bored?" he said with a grin and a soft chuckle. Evan looked her way and shrugged a bit. "Other than that, I've been swell. How about you? Been practicing lately?"As he spoke he made eye contact. The connection of the eyes meant a lot to Evan. Why? He wasn't always sure but he liked to have it. Sure it unnerved people sometimes but, eh, oh well.

She noticed he was being rather still for someone who moved around constantly, changing position every five minutes. She was rather surprised at this. Then he moved to a different position. She knew that he would eventually. It turned out that it would be sooner rather than later. She smiled. She didn't feel like sitting so she decided to lay down. Her knees were still up but she had laid her back and head down. It was more comfortable than sitting anyhow. She looked up at the sky as he spoke and smiled. She let out a soft laugh at his statement. She heard his question and grinned.
She looked back into his eyes. She knew that his stare could creep people out sometimes but it didn't bother her. She met all people's eyes, not fearing them at all. She looked them straight back. If she broke this contact, it would show weakness. Weakness was unacceptable in her book. One mustn't lie nor show weakness. That was just something that wasn't done. She didn't like liars. She was always honest with people and she expected them to be honest with her. She smiled as she looked into his eyes.
"Of course I have. And everything's been fine. Nothing interesting though sometimes I wish that something would happen. Something new and exciting."

After he adjusted himself on his elbows, Alana seemed to get the memo and laid back. Two friends chilling by the lake, laid back, observing the world. How fun! Not that they'd stay this way long. Evan had much too short of an attention span. Here in a few minutes he'd be sitting up skipping rocks again or one his feet rambling about what to do next.
Though Alana was hot and athletic she was intelligent...and most people like her were so focused. There was hardly time for them to be spontaneous. But Evan decided he'd help her fix that problem soon enough. Again he moved, popping his shoulders and settling once more. Ev couldn't help notice she held contact. Another thing he liked about her, she didn't back down easily.
"New and exciting eh?" he repeated with a smirk finally breaking eye contact. "Well, I can certainly help you there!" Suddenly Evan was on his feet and he smirked at the girl before taking some steps back. Taking a run at it, the young brunette dove into the water causing a large splash. The water was freezing but that was ok. It'd be getting hot soon anyways. Evan made his way to the bottom of the lake and the swam to the surface, his head breaking the water surface again. "Come on! Water's great!"

She noticed that he was the first to break contact. Not that she thought he was weak but she had proved that she was strong. She didn't know why it mattered to her so much. It just did. She listened to him and grinned back as he spoke. She then watched as he ran and jumped in the water. He made a big splash and a lot of it landed on her. She squealed and sat up.
"Evan! That was really cold!"
She said with a laugh. She smirked and decided that for once she was going to relax and have fun. Not think about everything and make sure it all made sense. She stood up and bit her lower lip softly. She wasn't used to being like this. She shrugged the feeling away and ran towards the lake. She jumped in and went down to the very bottom. She then resurfaced and started laughing. She looked over at him, treading the water so she'd stay above the water. She grinned.

This was all in good fun. Evan broke contact first though. Why? because he would rather win at something fun than win a staring contest. Don't get me wrong, Evan would gladly stare at a hot girl all day but only if he was having some fun as well. The water seemed more fun right now. The splash that formed was huge and it hit the bank, getting Alana as well. So far so good, he thought with a grin as he broke surface seeing her wet clothes. Yea, he planned to soak her, that way she wouldn't have an excuse not to jump in as well.
"Haha, it's supposed to be cold! Believe me, you'll be thankful when it gets hot out here!" he replied with a laugh. His brown orbs sparkled happily as Alana jumped in as well. That worked out perfectly. But didn't it always? Of course. It was almost as if Evan had a power over the female species. Haha, he was the God of Desire, right?
Once Alana resurfaced, Ev began to float on his back a bit. "This is so awesome. I should have thought of this earlier," This was said more to himself than anything, but he sent a small splash in Alana's direction short after.

She smiled and looked over at him. She saw he started floating on his back and rolled her eyes at his statement. She felt him splash her and smirked. She went under and wasn't visible for a few minutes. She came up behind him and quickly dunked him. She let go so he could come back up and laughed. She wasn't usually this carefree. It was a nice change and she personally liked it. It was more fun than being all smart and warrior-ish. It didn't involve a lot of thinking and such. She decided to be like this a bit more.
She looked at him and grinned. "What now, Mr. Sexy?" She asked him playfully, waiting for his counter-attack.

The girl disappeared for a moment and Evan held his breath. Yea, he knew she was either going to splash or dunk him. You'd think he'd move right? Naw, he was a lover not a fighter. Struggling would make it worse. Suddenly he felt himself get pushed under and his eyes remained open looking through the blue, thinking of a plan.
Breaking surface again, Evan took a breath and a mischievous gleam shone in his eyes. "Mr. Sexy? I like that," he replied with a laugh. Slowly he began treading forward. "But dunking me was wrong move my sexy little warrior," With that he lunged forward, but instead of going for the shoulders, Evan went under and caught her ankles pulling her down before releasing and swimming away.

She smirked as he said he liked her nickname for him. She thought he might. She waited for his next move which she knew was coming soon. She was a warrior, excelling in battle knowledge. A counter attack was bound to come. She saw him lunge and waited for him to grab her shoulders. She found in surprise that he went for her ankles. She gasped slightly and then felt herself being pulled under. She resurfaced to find him further away from her. She smirked. "Oh, its on." She said playfully. She splashed him, sending a huge amount of water over and knew it would land on him.

As he grabbed her ankles he found himself amused he'd gotten her, though he wasn't sure he could pull that again. Probably not. He released and swam a nice distance away before resurfacing. Alana popped up as well, sending a large splash his way. It hit Evan before he had gotten a chance to block. Shaking his head a bit, he laughed. For he couldn't get any wetter and he was having fun this other wise boring day.
"So you wanna play rough huh?" he asked though his voice was purely confident and playful. Using all his upper body strength the boy sent a huge wave Alana's way.
